# Limit Orders

**What it is:** Places an order at a specific price; executes only if the market trades there.\
**How it works:**

* Set both a price (1–99¢) and a dollar amount.
* Use the slider to allocate a % of your balance.\
**When to use:** To control entry or exit at precise price points.\
**Example:** Place an order to buy $200 of YES if the price falls to 55¢.

**Why you need it:** With shallow books, you don’t want to cross the spread unless you must. Limit orders let you rest liquidity at your chosen price, either picking off better fills or earning the spread when impatient traders cross with you.\
**Example:** You think fair value is 55¢, so you rest a $200 YES order there and wait for sellers to come to you.
